sad or happy writer

Do you keep a journal? A sketch book? A notebook? Why do I only have something to write when things are bad....or I am mad...or sad? I read my journal the other day and it was not a breezy account of all my happiest times. And I can recall times when I have sat down to write things and nothing comes. That's a good thing I guess. There are exceptions......when things are really good, exceeptionally beautiful, and wonderful.....I really try to take a minute and record those moments I know I'll never want to forget. But its always a struggle and the words do not quite capture the joy you felt that day. But the bad....the bad sticks to that paper so easily.

I just don't get it.

I have about 5 journals starting from when I was in 8th grade and every time I read through them I get depressed. I swear I only wrote when I was sad or mad and needed to vent, then months would go by with no writing then another sad one. This is the main reason why I stopped writing in one. I do not want to be remembered for being sad or mad. Ugh!

It helps if you start out with what you are thankful for that day, moment, hour. Try keeping a thankful journal, just 5 little thankful gems! Love you! I am so thankful for you!
