1st's As Of Late
1st time participating in a 4 hour drum circle, in a tee pee, in the mountains.
This is an experiance that needs to be described in the real but here are the basics. I met Cristian on the train one day. A few days later he came to Leysin looking for a caravan of drummers living in the mountains. So he found me and we found the caravan together. Eventually they have a drumming session where they play in the tee pee for 36 hours straight, with at least one person keeping the heart beat.
They were very welcoming. We ate dinner with them and then they invited us to participate in their drum circle for the evening. I had a unique take on the caravaners cause they spoke french. Only one spoke english, a woman named Flo. She translated for me when needed. I snapped some pictures of the inside of the tee pee while it was vacant.
I wanted so badly to video the drumming and the dancing during the four hour ceremony, or take pictures with my new friends but it didn't feel appropriate, for I was a visitor. Everyone in the circle dances once while everyone else drums or protects the drums from the dancer by shaking maracas, it was 4 hours. What an experience, I loved it and took it all in! Nothing weird just celebrating life and the earth.
1st time serving my friends drinks and getting paid for it.

How funny that the whole time I was reading I was thinking, "Teryn has totally turned hippie on us..." but then you admitted it yourself so I didn't have to refer you to counseling.
hopp swiss! maybe i spelled that wrong... dont let anyone see. yes-book exchange. also I am SO jealous of your indian/hippie adventures.
The drum thing would be so awesome. Say hi to your hippie friend...nudge nudge!! T-ren I miss your guts. I know you are having so much fun, and I love it. I wish I was experiencing these things with you. September is coming really fast. I can't wait to hear all of the stories in person. You are a great story teller. Now especially since you are a native american
